28 songs. Two albums. One very controversial ranking.
Tyla has officially given us enough music to make ranking her songs a serious group-chat activity, so naturally, we took the job very seriously.
We went back to her 2024 self-titled debut, TYLA, and her 2026 sophomore album, A*POP and listened to both from beginning to end. From the Water era that introduced the world to Tyla’s signature blend of amapiano, pop and R&B, to the more confident, distinctly African-pop sound of A*POP, there is a lot to work with. Both albums contain 14 tracks.
And yes, ranking them was harder than expected.
So, in true FEMME fashion, here is our completely subjective, slightly ruthless and potentially group-chat-dividing ranking of every track.

28. “Intro”

TYLA
We’re starting with the obvious one.
It’s a gorgeous little introduction and sets the tone for the album, but when you’re ranking actual songs against 27 other tracks, an intro was always going to struggle.
Verdict: Beautiful opener. Not beating the competition.

27. “Water (Remix)”

TYLA
We love Travis Scott. We love Water. But the original already had the world in a chokehold.
The remix gives the song a slightly grittier energy, but we’re still pressing play on the original first.
Verdict: Fun remix. Original supremacy.

26. “Priorities”

TYLA
A softer and more reflective moment from Tyla.
It’s pretty, personal and gives the album some emotional depth, but compared with the rest of her catalogue, it doesn’t quite have the same replay factor.
Verdict: Underrated, but we’re not fighting over it.

25. “On My Body” feat. Becky G

TYLA
Tyla and Becky G bring the flirtation, the attitude and the going-out energy.
It’s fun and definitely has a place on a pre-drinks playlist but there are stronger collaborations in Tyla’s catalogue.
Verdict: Cute. We’d play it. We wouldn’t necessarily request it.

24. “Breathe Me”

TYLA
Soft, dreamy and a little more vulnerable.
This is Tyla showing that she can do more than the dance-floor-ready tracks, and we appreciate it. But when we’re ranking the entire catalogue, it lands towards the bottom.
Verdict: A pretty little moment.

23. “DOUBLE BLIND”

A*POP
This one is a grower.
It’s slick, understated and very much in the A*POP world, but it doesn’t immediately grab us in the same way some of the album’s bigger moments do.
Verdict: Give it a few more listens.

22. “IS IT”

A*POP
There’s something about this one that feels effortlessly cool.
It’s catchy, it’s vibey and it sounds unmistakably Tyla but A*POP has some serious competition.
Verdict: We wouldn’t skip it. We just wouldn’t fight for it.

21. “FEEL SOMETHING”

A*POP
A softer side of A*POP.
It’s emotional without becoming overly dramatic and there’s something quite pretty about Tyla’s delivery here.
Verdict: For when you’re in your feelings.

20. “On and On”

TYLA
An underrated debut-era gem.
It has that breezy, effortless quality that makes Tyla’s music so easy to listen to, but it doesn’t quite have the instant impact of the tracks higher up.
Verdict: Deserves a little more love.

19. “RIGHT NOW”

A*POP
This one is made for movement.
It’s catchy, rhythmic and has that effortless cool-girl quality Tyla does so well.
Verdict: Definitely making the playlist.

18. “Butterflies”

TYLA
Sweet, romantic and dreamy.
It’s a reminder that Tyla can make soft-girl music just as easily as she can make a club track.
Verdict: The butterflies are definitely there.

17. “No.1” feat. Tems

TYLA
Tyla and Tems on the same track? We’re listening.
The two voices complement each other beautifully and the song has that hazy, late-night quality that makes it easy to disappear into.
Verdict: A very good collaboration.

16. “To Last”

TYLA
One of the debut’s more vulnerable moments and one that gets better when you revisit the album.
There’s something intimate about this one that feels different from the more obvious hits.
Verdict: Quietly one of the album’s best.

15. “KISS”

A*POP
Flirty. Playful. Very Tyla.
This is the kind of song that belongs on the getting-ready playlist while you’re doing your makeup and pretending you have somewhere very important to be.
Verdict: Lip gloss on. Volume up.

14. “MR. NONCHALANT”

A*POP
The title alone gets us.
The song has that cool, laid-back energy that feels like Tyla pretending she doesn’t care, while obviously caring quite a lot.
Verdict: Nonchalant? We could never.

13. “SHE DID IT AGAIN” feat. Zara Larsson

A*POP
Tyla and Zara Larsson bring a proper pop moment to A*POP.
It’s catchy, playful and ridiculously easy to sing along to.
Verdict: She really did do it again.

12. “JUMP” feat. Gunna & Skillibeng

TYLA
This song still goes OFF.
The combination of amapiano, dancehall and hip-hop makes it one of the most energetic moments on the debut.
Put this on at a party and suddenly nobody is sitting down.
Verdict: The dance floor has entered the chat.

11. “SAFER”

TYLA
Smooth. Sensual. Addictive.
Safer is one of those tracks that quietly proves how strong the debut actually was.
It might not have become Water-level huge, but it has aged beautifully.
Verdict: Still deserves more attention.

THE TOP 10
Okay, now we’re getting serious.
These are the tracks we’re defending in the group chat.

10. “THAT GIRL”

A*POP
This is Tyla leaning fully into her pop-star era.
It’s feminine, flirtatious and confident without feeling like she’s trying too hard.
Verdict: Very much main-character behaviour.

9. “ART”

TYLA
One of the most unmistakably Tyla songs in her catalogue.
It’s sensual, playful and effortlessly cool, with that hypnotic quality that makes you immediately recognise her sound.
Verdict: She wasn’t lying. It really is ART.

8. “HOT TUBS”

A*POP
This is Tyla having fun.
It’s cheeky, sexy and playful, basically everything we want from a Tyla track.
Verdict: The playlist is no longer family-friendly.

7. “FAIRYTALE” feat. Liquideep

A*POP
This one deserves its flowers.
Tyla taking a South African classic and giving it a new life is such a good representation of what A*POP is trying to do: take sounds from home and place them firmly inside global pop.
It’s nostalgic without feeling stuck in the past.
Verdict: South African girlies, we know you’re feeling this one.

6. “CHANEL”

A*POP
Glossy. Sensual. Expensive.
CHANEL feels like Tyla fully stepping into her global pop-star identity while still keeping the sound distinctly hers.
It’s the kind of track that makes you want to put on perfume even when you’re staying home.
Verdict: Expensive-girl energy.

5. “IS IT LOVE”

A*POP
An excellent opening statement for the second album.
It’s catchy, hypnotic and immediately pulls you into the world of A*POP.
And more importantly, it sounds like Tyla has become much more comfortable in her own skin.
Verdict: She’s back and she knows exactly who she is.

4. “TRUTH OR DARE”

TYLA
Still one of her best.
It’s flirty without being cheesy, sexy without trying too hard and effortlessly cool.
This is the song that made us realise Tyla wasn’t going to be a one-hit wonder.
Verdict: A certified Tyla classic.

3. “Water”

TYLA
Obviously.
The song that started the global takeover.
The Grammy-winning smash. The dance. The viral moment. The song that introduced amapiano-inspired pop to an even wider global audience.
But we’re ranking the songs based on how much we still love listening to them and two songs just manage to edge it out.
Verdict: Historic. Iconic. Still a bop.

2. “CRAZY OF ME” feat. MaWhoo

A*POP
This is where A*POP really shows its depth.
Tyla and MaWhoo sound gorgeous together, and there’s something about the track that feels intimate, atmospheric and distinctly South African.
It’s the kind of song that sneaks up on you.
Verdict: The sleeper hit we keep coming back to.

1. “I DON’T CARE” feat. Babalwa M

A*POP
Yes. We’re putting it at number one.
And yes, we’re prepared for the Water fans to come for us.
But there’s something about this track that feels like Tyla at her most effortless.
The South African influence is right there, her vocals sit beautifully over the production and the whole thing feels intimate without losing that glossy Tyla quality.
It’s not trying to be the biggest song on the album.
It doesn’t need to.
It just works.
And after going back through both albums, this was the one we kept wanting to hear again.
Verdict: Our winner. No apologies.
So… there you have it.
28 Tyla songs. One ranking.
And if there’s one thing this relisten confirmed, it’s that Tyla’s catalogue has evolved.
TYLA gave us the introduction: the hits, the sensuality, the amapiano-pop fusion and, of course, Water.
A*POP feels more confident. More rooted. More playful. And like Tyla has figured out exactly what kind of artist she wants to be.
But now we want to know:
Did we get it right?
Perhaps we didn’t, we’re already expecting the group chat to have thoughts.
