Raising the Bar: Bold Women, Big Hearts, and 25K for a Cause

When unstoppable women rally around a mission, they don’t just make waves—they create tsunamis. The Radisson Blu Hotel, Durban Umhlanga teamed up with the Estée Lauder Group of Companies for an electrifying Breast Cancer Awareness Luncheon. But make no mistake, this wasn’t your typical luncheon. It was a bold, unapologetic power play that raised a staggering R25,000 for The Pink Drive—thanks to some fierce bidding and even fiercer sisterhood!

The event was nothing short of a battle cry for strength, solidarity, and sheer force. The day kicked off with a speaker, Nomazibulo Tshanga, who laid down a serious truth bomb: The power of pause. In a world that never stops, she called on every woman in the room to slow down, embrace the moment, and prioritise self-care—a lesson she wished she’d taken to heart much sooner. The message hit hard, resonating with every woman present.

Then, the room shifted as the second speaker Noeline Rajbally, took the stage, sharing her raw, unfiltered story. A breast cancer survivor who was in the running for Mrs. South Africa at the same time—this queen didn’t let cancer steal a single ounce of her shine. She walked every woman through her battle, proving that real strength isn’t just surviving—it’s thriving in the face of adversity. Her story? A knockout, inspiring everyone in the room to keep fighting and never back down.

And then, the main event: The auction. The room was electric with emotion as bids flew in a fierce battle for the cause. Every paddle raised was more than just a bid on luxury items—it was a declaration of hope, resilience, and commitment to making a difference for women fighting breast cancer. By the time the final bid was called, R25,000 had been raised—funding life-saving screenings and education that will change countless lives.

But what made this event unforgettable wasn’t just the numbers or the stories. It was the undeniable energy—a raw, unstoppable force of women standing together for something bigger than themselves. The Radisson Blu Hotel, Durban Umhlanga and Estée Lauder didn’t just pull off a luncheon—they sparked a movement. Their dedication to breast cancer awareness proved that when businesses and communities unite, the impact is unstoppable.

As Fara Hamid, Marketing Manager of Radisson Blu Hotel Durban Umhlanga, put it: “This luncheon was a beautiful reminder of the strength of community. Together, we can make a real difference in the fight against breast cancer, and we are proud to stand with our partners and guests in this important cause.”

This luncheon was more than a fundraiser—it was a fearless declaration that breast cancer doesn’t stand a chance against the combined power of unity, resilience, and the unbreakable bond of sisterhood. Here’s to the fighters, the survivors, and the women who showed up and showed out—because together, they didn’t just raise money, they raised hope.
