Moms, Mayhem, and Major Drama: Brace Yourself for the Reunion!

The season finale of The Mommy Club: Sugar and Spice just aired on Thursday, 17 October, and we’re all buzzing! From heart-warming moments to the fiery drama that had us glued to our screens, this season delivered it all. But if you thought the final episode was explosive, wait until you hear what’s in store for the reunion episodes. Renowned journalist and talk show host, Shahan Ramkissoon is stepping in to host the reunion special of The Mommy Club: Sugar & Spice, premiering on Showmax – Part 1 on 31 October and Part 2 on 7 November. Expect explosive confrontations, surprise revelations, and moments that’ll leave you shook!

We caught up with some of your favourite mommies to get the inside scoop on what we can expect from the highly anticipated reunion. Spoiler alert: It’s going to be intense!

Drama? Oh, Honey, You Have No Idea!
Abigail Nadar Nepaul teased us with some major drama vibes: “A lot happened at the reunion, and I must say that it was quite surprising because the people that I thought would be the most dramatic and confrontational at the reunion were actually not. It was a complete surprise as to where the drama actually originated from. There is drama right from the beginning, so it’s very exciting to watch! It was a bit disheartening to see words being exchanged between different members of the club that were quite serious in nature, quite defamatory and damaging – I was quite taken aback. It was however a good and liberating experience and each of the moms had an opportunity to clear our name if we needed to. The host Shahan Ramkissoon handled it well, he gave us all a fair and equal opportunity to be heard. I left feeling a lot lighter, I said what I needed to say and I left on a good note with everybody, so I am grateful for that, however I know that there are definitely members of the club who will probably not speak to the other members again, by the looks and sounds of what happened at the reunion.”

Surprises and Shady Twists? Yes, Please!
Devina Kowlas dropped a few cryptic hints, and now we’re dying for more! The reunion episodes are going to be intense! Expect some unexpected confrontations and heartfelt reconciliations. There are definitely a few surprises in store that will leave fans buzzing. I can’t give too much away, but let’s just say not everything is as it seems!”

Need a Quick Refresher?
Losh Naidoo came in with the ultimate pro tip for fans: binge before the reunion. “All I can say is that the reunion is crazy, unexpected and entertaining and you absolutely have to tune in! Perhaps a quick binge re-watch is also needed to get you up to speed before reunion airs!”

Edge-of-Your-Seat Drama
Resh Naidoo is keeping things mysterious but promises the reunion will have you on the edge of your seat. “Omg all I can say is that you will be at the edge of your seat! And you will definitely be surprised!”

But it’s not just about the drama…

Beyond the Drama: The Mommies Dish on Seeing Themselves on Reality TV
We couldn’t help but check in with the ladies on what it felt like watching an entire season of their lives unfold on screen. Their reactions? Priceless!

Resh Naidoo

Resh: It was so crazy seeing myself on screen!!! It definitely took some getting used to. I was so proud of a lot of my scenes. I was so happy that I showcased OT, Disability, Shivrathri, my fashion designing and makeup masterclasses and my family! The chance to self-reflect is not something we often get in life – I have learned so much about myself especially how my words and actions get perceived, and I have grown so much.

Losh Naidoo

Losh: This whole experience has been so phenomenal. I must admit, watching yourself on TV does take some getting used to! I initially felt that I was so cringe but as time progressed, I got more comfortable with watching myself. I think my biggest take away is that you need to give yourself some grace. Often what you say is taken out of context and lost in the editing process but honestly, it’s a reality show and not that deep. It is difficult to have your every word, action and reaction analysed through a magnifying glass, but you learn to filter out the shade and embrace the love.

Devina Kowlas

Devina: Watching myself on reality TV was a surreal experience. It’s one thing to live those moments, but seeing them play out on screen adds a whole new layer. I felt a mix of excitement and vulnerability. My biggest takeaway has been the importance of authenticity—showing up as your true self resonates more than anything else.

Abigail Nadar Nepaul

Abigail: It was an absolutely wonderful, empowering and inspiring experience. When I received the contract to be a part of The Mommy Club Sugar & Spice, I sat down with my family and explained to my children what it would entail and I really wanted to gauge whether they were ready for something like this. They were so excited and their eyes lit up – they also asked lots of questions about it in the most animated manner as two little girls aged 7 and 9, I knew it was something I had to do for them.  I also wanted them to see mom in a different light. They see me in an office, and they see me with clients too but they have never seen me on radio as I did 10 years ago and have definitely not seen me on TV – so the experience has been a very exciting one because of that.

I loved watching us on TV, the shoots itself were very exhausting, very exciting yes, but very tiring. Managing shoots in between school activity, extra-curricular activities, life as an attorney, a coach, mom and a wife was absolutely daunting, but we made it work. When we watched it on TV, it was all so worth it. It was a very liberating experience, especially the scenes I did with my girls. They were very excited about it and there was lots of conversation in school about them being on The Mommy Club: Sugar & Spice – they have no regrets! The experience was wonderful and one that I would definitely do again, given the opportunity.

Season 2, Anyone?
We’re crossing our fingers for more mommy drama because this crew isn’t done yet. Stay tuned — Hey Showmax, season 2 has to be on the cards, right?!
